In Fall 2009 CISS launched a program titled "India and the World" which focuses attention on the rise of India and its implications for international security. India is playing an increasingly important role in the emerging Asian balance of power and the global economy and it is our hope that this program will generate a better understanding of India's internal dynamics, its external interests and challenges and its interactions with the international system.

Directed by Professor Shivaji Sondhi of the Department of Physics, this program brings to Princeton lectures and seminars by leading academic and policy experts on strategic issues involving India and the global community.

Since 2011, CISS has hosted an annual Program on International Relations and Strategic Affairs for a select group of Indian Members of Parliament who travel to Princeton to be interact with leading experts at Princeton and elsewhere on a range of issues. Currently this Program is co-sponsored by the Governance & Public Policy Initiative of the Center for Policy Research, Delhi which is directed by Mr. Ramesh Chandran.
