Tactical Perspective
Please come and join in a conversation on American defense strategy between tactical experts from the Army and Navy. MAJ Romanowski and LCDR Boyle will bridge the gap between overarching strategy and on-the-ground tactics, all with a focus on the Indo-Pacific. Discussion will be started by a MIL101 panelist and then opened up to the audience. Come with questions on the military, tactical experiences, and the Indo-Pacific! |

Lieutenant Commander Michael Boyle
Lieutenant Commander Michael Boyle, US Navy Fleet Scholars Fellow and Master of Public Policy candidate at SPIA, who will discuss his experiences as a Naval Officer living and operating in the South Pacific. LCDR Boyle will share how the tactical missions of an aircraft carrier promotes the US’s strategic goals in the region.
LCDR Boyle has served in the Navy for 14 years as an E-2 Hawkeye Naval Flight Officer. He has completed operational assignments in Iwakuni, Japan and Pt. Mugu, California. He has served in a shore assignment in Fallon, Nevada where he developed and tested tactics for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye.
Major Matt Romanowski
Major Matt Romanowski, US Army and MPA student, will discuss his experiences as a Special Forces officer deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region during a time of strategic transition from counter-terrorism to irregular warfare. MAJ Romanowski has completed two combat deployments to Afghanistan and five operational deployments throughout the Indo-Pacific.
